I was honored to receive the WWF Poland Award – Voice for the Living Planet, yesterday, before the screening of Time and Water at Millennium Docs Against Gravity (MDAG), Poland’s largest and most prominent documentary film festival.
The WWF Poland Award – Voice for the Living Planet is the only award at the festival presented to a film’s protagonist rather than its creators. It is “an award that recognizes courage, honesty and unwavering commitment to the protection of biodiversity and our planet. It highlights attitudes that inspire others to act for nature and real change”.
The award ceremony was in Warsaw on 8th May, before the screening of the film. Afterwards, I joined the director of Time and Water, Sara Dosa, for a Q&A.
“We present the WWF Poland Award – Voice for the Living Planet, intended not for a filmmaker, but for a protagonist, because we want to distinguish people able to speak on behalf of nature and inspire reflection. These people move us with their determination and sensitivity, telling about what is fragile, transient and priceless – our planet. They remind us how important its protection is before it is too late”
