It was a true honour to receive the Knight’s Cross of the Icelandic Order of the Falcon at Bessastaðir, the Presidential Residence, on Iceland’s National Day, 17 June.
The Order of the Falcon is the highest honour awarded by the Icelandic state. The President of Iceland, as Grand Master of the Order, bestows it upon selected individuals following the recommendation of a selection committee.
President Halla Tómasdóttir said in her speech at the event, that behind every recipient of the Order stands an entire community. I am sincerely grateful to my family, friends, and colleagues and share this honour with them.
