Earlier this week, Time and Water – the documentary, was named one of the best films of 2026 (so far) by the respected film publications The Film Stage and IndieWire, both of which published enthusiastic in-depth reviews. It has also received excellent reviews in the Los Angeles Times, the Financial Times, the Irish Independent, RogerEbert.com, and The Irish Times, to name just a few.
Time and Water is directed by Sara Dosa and is based on my book of the same name. It is largely assembled from my family’s archive of film and video footage spanning the past seventy years.
The film has been touring extensively across the United States, Britain, and beyond, where it has been warmly received. July screenings include Washington, Phoenix, Portland, Toronto, Montreal, and Munich.
I’m looking forward to the Icelandic premiere, scheduled for late summer.
